Japan has some of the best restaurants in the world. It also has some of the most difficult reservation systems to navigate if you don't speak Japanese.

Most top-rated restaurants don't have English booking systems. Many don't even have websites. The only way to secure a table is to call during specific hours, in Japanese, and communicate everything correctly — number of guests, date, time, dietary requirements, seating preferences, and cancellation policies.

We're based in Japan. We speak Japanese. We handle restaurant and activity reservations across the entire country so you don't have to.

Why Japan's Restaurants Are Hard to Book

Phone-only reservations

A large number of Japan's most sought-after restaurants — from neighbourhood ramen shops to multi-course kaiseki establishments — only accept reservations by phone, in Japanese, during business hours. Online booking simply isn't an option.

Booking platforms don't cover everything

Tabelog and Hot Pepper Beauty have made progress on English and Chinese interfaces, but many restaurants only appear on one platform, or only accept reservations through their own website, or only by phone. Finding the right channel takes time and research.

Dietary and seating requirements

Private rooms, window seats, allergen requests, vegetarian or halal requirements, high chairs for children — communicating these clearly in Japanese during a phone call is beyond most travellers. Getting it wrong means finding out at the table.

Cancellation rules

Japanese restaurants take cancellations seriously. Most have strict no-show and cancellation policies with fees that apply if you don't cancel within a specific window — in Japanese. Travellers who don't know the rules often pay the price.

What We Handle for You

Tell us where you want to eat, how many people, and when. We take care of the rest.

Restaurant reservations

Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido, Okinawa — anywhere in Japan. Yakitori, sushi, ramen, teppanyaki, kaiseki, wagyu steakhouses, rooftop dining — whatever you're looking for, we find the right booking channel and secure your table.

Special requirements

Private rooms, specific seating, allergen requests, vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher — we confirm all of this at the time of booking so there are no surprises when you arrive.

Activity and experience bookings

Beyond restaurants: tea ceremony, ikebana flower arranging, pottery, sake brewery tours, whale watching, ski resorts, ryokan (traditional inn) stays — if it requires a Japanese phone call or a Japanese-only booking system, we handle it.

Changes and cancellations

Plans change. We contact the restaurant or venue within the required window, in Japanese, so you avoid cancellation fees and leave the relationship intact for future visits.

A Final Note

Japan's food culture is extraordinary. The restaurants that define it — the ones that have been perfecting a single dish for decades, the ones where the chef knows every regular by name — are often the hardest to access for visitors who don't speak the language.

We think that's a pity. So we make the call for you.
